Precision Digital Scale 500g x 0.01g
You might be asking yourself why a web site specializing in SMT assembly tools is carrying scales and calibration weights when generally these products seem to be largely the domain of head shop sites.
The answer is..... Have you ever tried to count a drawer full of thousands of tiny SMT components or hardware?
The two scales we carry have been specially selected to provide low cost, high precision counting functions primarily for counting small parts. They are great multi-taskers, You may have other uses for them, but I don't want to know.
This scale has a maximum capacity of 500g (thats a little over 1 lb for the metrically challenged) and can display weight in a variety of units (including grains for those of you who reload.) The resolution is a scant 0.01 gram , which is about the equivalent to 3-4 typical 0805 resistors. Counting function can be programmed for sample sizes of 25, 50, 75 or 100.
I don't claim that it will give you counts down to the individual part, but I'm confident it will get as close as manually counting small parts. and save a lot of time. I have real heartburn over paying somebody to count components manually that cost a fraction of a cent. That can increase the inventory cost by an order of magnitude or more every time you take inventory. You can also use them to estimate component quantities of taped parts.
We also have an identically styled scale with a 3000g capacity and 0.1g resolution for heavier parts like screws, nuts and bolts.
This scale requires a 500g calibration weight (not included). The scale is powered by 3xAAA batteries and can use an external 6V AC adapter, but unfortunately our supplier can only supply these with a UK compatible adapter at this time.
