High Intensity Cool LED Flexible Lamp

Working with surface mount assembly under a microscope or magnifier requires good lighting. The problem with most high intensity light sources is they also come with a lot of heat. Specialty LED illumination sources are available, but typically come with a large price tag.

We've been on the lookout for a small, low cost high intensity LED light source and this is the best we have been able to find to date. This lamp has 14 White LEDs powered by 3 AAA batteries in the base. As shown in the phot it produces a very bright, uniform spot of illumination about 3 inches across.

Battery life is reasonable even with rechargeable NiMH rechargeable batteries. We'll even throw in some real industrial Alkaline batteries so you don't have to suffer the indignity of using the cheap carbon batteries that normally come with these things.
