ICD2A
Many of you have asked for a companion programmer to go with our PICWEB Embedded Web Server products. We listened and are proud to introduce the Celeritous ICD2A programmer that is compatible with the Microchip ICD-2 Debug/Programming Module.
In use it appears as an ICD-2 programmer/debug module and allows automatic downloading of programming firmware from the Microchip MPLAB IDE development environment. This programmer is fully compatible with the ICD-2 including powering the target from the programmer. An internal jumper selects between a target voltage of +5V, +3.3V or disabled.
The unit ships with this jumper disabled by default. Other target voltages require the target device be powered externally. While the unit is fuse protected to limit the current drawn from the USB port it is the user's responsibility to make sure the target does not draw excessive current from the USB port and it is recommended that the programmer be used in conjuntion with a powered USB hub to protect PC and Laptop USB ports from possible damage.
The low voltage IO buffers in the ICD2A can be used with target voltages as low as 2.5V when powered by the Target device. Housed in a compact 3.5" x 2.5" x 1" plastic enlosure, the ICD2A provides a standard ICD2 pinout RJ12 6 pin modular connector interface as well as an individual pin header connector with an individual pin jumper cable for non-standard interfaces.
Based on a reference design by Dr Chi Hwan Lee (http://www..pwm.pe.kr) it has been modified to use surface mount technology to the greatest extent possible and manufactured and assembled in the US.
