Downloading the LifeScan Diabetes Management Software

Due to licensing restrictions we are unable to provide a copy of the LifeScan Diabetes Management Software with our USB to Serial Adaptor Cables. We can, however, help you navigate through the LifeScan web site and avoid getting stuck in the endless loop of wanting you to buy their cable before downloading the software. It is a free download. You just have to know the right links.

Downloading Diabetes Management Software

Enter http://www.lifescan.com in the appropriate window of your chosen browser and press the enter key. At the top of the screen is a row of hyperlink options, each with a pull-down menu. Hold the cursor over the “Products” tab and move cursor down to the “Diabetes Software” selection in the pull down menu and click on it. Near the top of the next page will be a hyperlink named “OneTouch® Diabetes Management Software.” Clicking on this link will take you to a webpage offering you two options. Option two should read “I already have OneTouch® Diabetes Management Software on my computer and want to upgrade to v. 2.3.2.“ This is the option you wish to select as the alternate choice will not allow you to download the software until after you purchase one of their proprietary cables. The previous link takes you to another page with system requirements information for the software.

There are two hyperlinks at the bottom of the page: “Start Software Upgrade Process“ and “Go to Step 1: Legal/Privacy Notes.” You may select either, as both will take you to the same webpage. This webpage contains two documents labeled “Privacy Note” and “Presentation of Glucose Values.” Beneath each statement is a small checkbox with “I accept and/or agree” statements next to them. Both boxes must be checked in order for the hyperlink at the bottom to allow you to progress to the next page. This next page contains product registration material. Asterisk-prefixed fields must be filled out or the hyperlink to allow progress to the software download page will be disabled. Once this link is actuated, the user is taken to a webpage describing the download and installation process for the Onetouch® software. At the bottom of this page is a hyperlink labeled “Download Upgrade.” Follow the instructions on this page to download and save a copy of the software to your hard drive, as well as begin the software installation process.

Downloading the Additional Meter Drivers (Required)

To download the installation file for the meter drivers, there is a link on the “Diabetes Software” reached from the pull-down menu on the “Products” tab labeled “Meter Driver.” In the second line of the “Instructions for Download and Installation” is a blue hyperlink named “Download”. Clicking on this link and selecting the “save to disk” option in the pop-up menu is all that is necessary to download the installation files for the Onetouch® drivers.
