USB to Serial Cable - Freestyle® Blood Glucose Meter Compatible

This is a USB to Serial interface cable designed, manufactured and distributed by Celeritous Technical Services, Corp. It was designed as a USB to serial interface cable for communicating with and programming various electronic products.

The output is RS-232 compatible and the serial interface connection is a 2.5mm Stereo Plug. It also turns out to be compatible with the Abbott FreeStyle® series of blood glucose meters to communicate between their PC based monitoring software and their Freedom and Lite meters with data ports.

Celeritous is not affiliated with Abbott Diabetes Care, Inc. in any way and this cable was developed entirely independently without reference to their meter cable. It is sold strictly as a USB to Serial RS-232 data cable that happens to be compatible with these meters.

The cable has been tested with the following meters and has been found to be compatible.

    * FreeStyle® Freedom
    * FreeStyle® Lite

The USB interface is USB2.0 compatible and comes with drivers for Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista. We also provide drivers for Mac users who use one of the various online monitoring sites. The interface is RS-232 to be compatible with the FreeStyle® meters and has been tested with all of the meters listed above and the latest software available from their site on all three operating systems. The software is a free download. The USB to Serial cable comes with the cable and driver CD containing drivers and installation instructions.
